Bachelor's Thesis

Deforestation - a consequence of Switzerland's high coffee consumption

​

The purpose of this project was to help people in Switzerland buy coffee responsibly to reduce negative environmental impacts. In order to achieve this, the structure of the thesis consisted of four phases; Research which involved understanding the problem and reframing it, followed by the Analysis, which looked into the research outcome by identifying findings, insights and interconnections. Next, the Synthesis phase used the findings to define design criteria for creating an intervention and evaluating three intervention concepts to then continue with one. The last phase, Intervention involved prototyping, testing, and finally creating an implementation plan for the initially chosen intervention concept.

Remember the future – about growing old

​

As a team of two Design Management students and one Digital Ideation student, our goal in this project was to enhance the lives of elderly people by addressing social problems they face on a daily basis. Furthermore, our main objective for this project was to bring value to society by developing a holistic and integrated solution. This solution should address social problems such as generational segregation and general personal challenges that come with growing old such as loneliness, social isolation, and lack of care. Our proposal would provide a service to elderly people that would enhance their quality of life by integrating them back into society.

This project is based on a real-life design challenge. Our team had the opportunity to thoroughly assess and analyse the Luzerner Kantonalbank and their unique selling points, branded experience marketing, brand strategy, customer journeys, and touch-points.

​

The general questions we asked ourselves were: How can the Luzerner Kantonalbank improve their learning environment and how can they encourage people to physically come back to the bank more often?

Hygiene

​

In this project, my team and I created our own design agency to improve hygiene in an existing facility. We received a client brief which indicated that we should focus on our classroom at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. We did research on what hygiene means in general, how it is related to our health and the environment. Additionally, we monitored the behaviour of students; did quantitative and qualitative research; held interviews with the cleaning staff and students, and conducted surveys.

A Classroom for Design Management Students

​

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts has expanded its building. More classrooms and workshops are included in the new part of the building; however, the classrooms where never set up to match the individual courses and style of work. Therefore, we got the chance to come up with a concept for our classroom that fits needs and values of design management students.

Creating a Brand

​

This aim of this project was to create my own brand based on my personality and personal interests. I defined the purpose of my brand and discussed possible products, services and/or experiences. I developed the corporate identity, thought about what brand touchpoint could be relevant, created a brand film and mock-ups of merchandise and packaging. Furthermore, I created personas and did customer journey mapping to improve my customer experience. Lastly, I built a model of my company and focused on its interior design.
